Written by legendary author Bertolt Brecht, Kuhle Wampe tells the story of a working-class family in Berlin in 1931, where survival is difficult with massive unemployment in the wake of the Great Depression. After Anni’s brother commits suicide in despair, her family finds itself forced to move to Kuhle Wampe, a lakeside tent camp on the outskirts of Berlin and home to increasing numbers of unemployed.

Filmbar tickets include one complimentary drink and snack, and a movie screening in Café Fledermaus, a relaxed bar atmosphere reminiscent of early 20th century Vienna. During the screening, you are invited to sip on a glass of wine, beer or a non-alcoholic beverage and enjoy a savory treat.
