Mezzo-soprano Tammy Hensrud and bass-baritone Robert Osborne return to Café Sabarsky with a debut program dedicated to the twentieth-century titan Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Following early acclaim as a miraculous Viennese wunderkind from contemporaries such as Mahler and Schoenberg, Korngold’s fortuitous exile to golden-era Hollywood at the invitation of Max Reinhart ushered in his brilliant career as filmdom’s foremost composer. This program includes a trove of beloved and obscure excerpts from Korngold’s operas and operettas, as well as art songs and popular works from his award-winning films.

Cabaret at CafÉ Sabarsky

The Neue Galerie is delighted to present Cabaret at Café Sabarsky. This inimitable series pays homage to the German and Austrian theatrical culture of the 1890s to 1930s through intimate evenings of sumptuous cuisine and performances by acclaimed artists.

Tickets include the cost of a three-course dinner at 7 p.m. followed by a Cabaret performance at 9 p.m., as well as tax and gratuity. Beverages are sold separately on the evening of the program.
