The supernova of European cabaret, Sven Ratzke is back to lure you deep into the night with Amsterdam to Mars. Prepare to meet pimps, lovers, angels and devils as Ratzke takes you back to his cabaret roots in this intimate performance. Ratzke unleashes songs from Brecht, Bowie, Weill and Wainwright in a dynamic evening by this acclaimed artist described aptly as being “Unique, bizarre, ultra-extravagant in style and flavour, supremely talented and bitingly hilarious” The Advertiser.
CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY
Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.
Performances are at 9 p.m., preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7 p.m. Ticket cost is $140 per person for these special performances. ($75 dinner, $65 performance. Guests must attend both dinner and the performance. Performance fees are charged upon booking; dinner is charged at the completion of the meal. Tax, gratuity, and beverages are not included.)
