Neue Galerie’s exhibition "Before the Fall" provides the backdrop for this musical voyage through Germany and Austria in the 1930s.  Café Sabarsky favorite Robert Osborne returns with duet partner Tammy Hensrud and pianist Evelyn Ulex in an evocative program that draws from both classical and popular works to present variations on themes of love and revolution, crime and corruption, exile and experimentation. Songs and duets by Johann Strauss, Korngold, Weill, Waxman, Hollander, Spoliansky and Gershwin.

CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY

Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s, some of the most fertile and volatile music created in the modern era. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.

All performances are at 9 p.m., preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7 p.m.
Combined cost is $140 (dinner $75, performance $65; must be purchased together).
