KIM DAVID SMITH WITH TRACY STARK
Australian cabaret performer Kim David Smith has been described as the "David Bowie of cabaret" by Broadway World and the "male Marlene Dietrich" by The New York Times. Smith conjures the doom and decadence of 1920s Berlin in his intimate celebration of Dietrich’s legacy, Mostly Marlene. Queer mega-muses Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Liza Minnelli collide with Marlene’s reimagined repertoire these luxurious rearrangements. His program saunters from Weimar Berlin, to Hollywood, to the battlefields of Europe — before launching into the stratosphere with an impassioned rendition of Dietrich’s immortal "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuss.”
