kt sullivan

In her new show "Lili Marlene," KT Sullivan returns to Café Sabarsky for a deep exploration of the rich and layered complexity that is Marlene Dietrich.  From the 30s in Berlin and Hollywood with "Falling In Love Again", "The Boys In the Back Room", and "You've Got That Look" through the 40s with "Black Market" and "Illusions", extending into the 50s and 60s with her inimitable interpretations of "The Laziest Gal In Town", "Blowin' In the Wind" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone", this evening of music will delight and reveal the legend.

CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY

Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s, some of the most fertile and volatile music created in the modern era. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.

All performances are at 9 p.m., preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7 p.m.
Combined cost is $140 (dinner $75, performance $65; must be purchased together).
