John kelly

Lauded performance  artist and vocalist, Kelly performs a cabaret concert of music by Bertolt Brecht, Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill and others. No stranger to the Weimar repertoire and aesthetic, he writes and performs his own music theater work based on artist Egon Schiele. Kelly will explore this potent material as well as the songs of Charles Aznavour, Fred Rauch, Carl Sigman and Danny Elfman.

CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY

Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian theatrical performance of the 1890s to 1930s. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.

Performances ​are ​at 9 p.m., preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7 p.m. Ticket cost is $150 per person for these special performances ($75 performance charged at time of booking, $75 dinner charged on evening of the performance). Guests must attend both dinner and performance and are responsible for total combined ticket cost. Ticket costs are nonrefundable. Tax, gratuity, and beverages are not included.
