Eric comstock and barbara fasano

The turbulent years "Before the Fall" in Germany, Austria and America gave rise to passionate, powerful music, as well as some of the world's wittiest, most enduring songs. Comstock and Fasano celebrate ten years performing at the Cafe with songs by Weill, Hollander and Misraki, plus great American songs of the 1930s. "Cabaret caviar ... turning the neighborhood into a hotbed of pleasure" (The New York Times).

CABARET AT CAFÉ SABARSKY

Cabaret at Café Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s, some of the most fertile and volatile music created in the modern era. The intimate 60-seat room is exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos, and features a Bösendorfer grand piano.

All performances are at 9 p.m., preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7 p.m.
Combined cost is $140 (dinner $75, performance $65; must be purchased together).
